This is more of a throwback piece, Miguel Mendoza of MigPxl Media made photos at the Nylon Magazine party during the Sundance Film Festival in 2017.
Nylon Magazine partnered with Dream Hollywood for an Apreś-Ski event gathering the movers and shakers of the industry into what was then Church Public House on Main Street Park City, Utah. Both DJ Equal and Mel DeBarge took turns turning up the heat on the turntables as everyone sipped on BABE Sparkling Rosé, White Girl Rosé, and some Tequila Avión.
Late January at Sundance is usually freezing, but Nylon had such great taste in DJs that everyone was dancing to the fire hits. Not just music, but also in party favors, as Nylon had a custom, DIY beanie bar where you could create your very own masterpiece you could wear and make everyone jealous. Plus, film festival attendees got to rub elbows with the likes of Eva De Dominici, Harley Quinn Smith, Willie Garson, Jillionare, Jay Sean, Gigi Gorgeous, Becca Tilley and more. Currently, it’s November 2019, and another Sundance Film Festival is right on the horizon. Sundance Film Festival 2020 will commence on January 23, 2020 to February 3, 2020. The Sundance Film Festival has been a good tradition with a variety of clients every year since 2016, with the exception of one of our main partners, The Downstairs. The Sundance Film Festival is filled with emotional, driving stories, amazing cinematography, and new inspiration for the year to come. For Sundance 2020, I’ll be creating memories directly for the Sundance Film Festival. I thought it’d be nice to sit back and reflect on what it was like working years ago, compared to what the industry is like now. It has always been a dream to be published in a magazine, I was glad to have my photos from Nylon’s party in the magazine. I also remember my first gigs at the Sundance Film Festival 2016 wanting to be a part of creating memories for them. In 2020, it’s official, I’m on the team. Party on, Garth. Party on, Wayne.
